maintaining the focus on the client.  She is so much more than this condition.  And that is who you want to be speaking to you.  To recognise her, so that from the very moment she lands on your site, she knows you see her as so much more than this condition, that you see her as so much more in all than it, and that you believe in her potential and her life and possibilities beyond them.


I would love you to meet her first as the woman she is, who then almost “incidentally” has this awful thing that holds her back from living her life to the full that you can help her with.

 

I would suggest:
1.  Meet her in who she is – the positive version of her because she is more than just the broken parts (you can still mention BFRB here, because it IS core to what you do just shift it so the message is not ONLY focused on the condition)

You want what you see others enjoying: a full, rich, free life. A different ‘you’.

You want to be able to stop the compulsion driving the biting, the picking, the pulling that’s ruining your life.

You want a life without shame: no more bleeding, no more plasters or heavy makeup, no more bald patches, no more pain.

A miracle.

You want to believe it’s possible, not too late, that this time it will work.

You want to find someone who knows, with a deep, specialist understanding of the exact thing you’re battling with.

what have you done so far?

You’ve tried, often, and found someone you thought might help and you’ve done the hard thing - you’ve reached out.

Now you’re trying to explain what you’re dealing with, asking for help, looking to change.

You just know that you do it, you can’t say why, not really. You just want to stop.

You see the blank look and feel the judgment about you and the kind of person that your body focused behaviour makes you.

You feel like you’re sinking…

You know it’s not a habit and goes so much deeper than ‘Just stop’. You want them to get that!

You leave in tears, feeling even more lost and hopeless.

What if…You were not a prisoner and it were not the enemy?

What if, long ago, you’d developed a really effective way of finding safety in the world?

What if using this behaviour was the only way you had found to be able to cope, then and now?

How would that feel, thinking about it differently? Would that open the door to the deeper work?

Would change seem a bit more possible?

Your picking, pulling or biting could have started a long time ago as a little thing you just did, a tiny strategy, an amazing adaptation, something you found to meet a need you had that wasn’t being met in the way that it should have been.

It would have served it’s simple purpose and made you feel better, but it’s stuck with you ever since and now you can’t seem to shift it.

Each time you’ve tried to stop, panic has driven you back to more picking, more pulling and all that means…

What served a clever function back then, long ago, has become the curse of today… and you have the scars to prove it.

Now though, you’re different and you don’t need it in the same way. It doesn’t have to do the same job for you anymore.

Trouble is, your brain doesn’t know that and so it continues stubbornly doing what it does - going back to the behaviour to keep you feeling safe.

Just like it always has.

This is your body focused ADAPTIVE behaviour.

It began for an extremely good reason, otherwise it wouldn’t have started at all…

but now its job is done and it’s time to move on.


Who am I?

I’m the practitioner who gets it. I understand what you’re dealing with and I have the training and experience to help you get to where you want to be, to stay there and then grow towards a life you can love.

You’ve spent enough time battling this, moving so slowly towards a goal that seems to get further and further away. I like to work deeply and effectively but also at a pace that you feel is right for you. It’s important that you’re not overwhelmed but it’s every bit as important that you start to feel like you’re making progress, one small success at a time.

You’ll find my approach different, broader and far deeper than what you’ve experienced before. I bring together a deep understanding of all the systems that are involved in your body focused behaviour as well as highly effective methods of working with them so that you begin to make rapid, sustainable progress towards your healing goals.

It might sound simple but it’s not - otherwise you would have already found it.
